Hello…
Bonjour…
Hola…
Konnichiwa…
I am Dr. Cheryl L. Andrews, and I am delighted you have taken a moment to learn more about me.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Supervisor in North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Virginia, and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in South Carolina. I also hold the credentials of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Disability Administrator.
My academic and professional foundation reflects a longstanding commitment to excellence in counseling, rehabilitation, supervision, and professional service. I earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University, a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Winston-Salem State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Saint Augustine’s University.
My work sits at the intersection of behavioral health, vocational expertise, and professional consultation. Across clinical, vocational, and forensic settings, I help individuals, professionals, attorneys, and organizations navigate complex questions related to mental health, employability, disability, workplace functioning, and professional development.
I also provide workshops and training on topics related to disability management, employment concerns, and mental health in the workplace. I value opportunities to help others deepen self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and professional confidence.
I am especially passionate about serving professionals who may be navigating work-life balance challenges, self-care difficulties, anxiety, or mild to moderate depression, as well as those seeking greater self-compassion, mindfulness, emotional awareness, and leadership effectiveness.
At heart, I am a Carolina girl, a part-time Georgia Peach, and unmistakably a Southern belle. I am also a proud wife and mother. Beyond my professional work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, dancing — with or without music — shopping, exploring new experiences, and embracing all things feminine, joyful, and beautifully lived.
My philosophy
My professional philosophy is grounded in clarity, thoughtful discernment, and respect for the complexity of human experience. Whether working in a counseling, supervisory, or consultative capacity, I strive to create an environment in which individuals feel respected, heard, and understood.
In clinical work, my approach is solution-focused with a strong foundation in reality therapy, helping clients identify patterns that may no longer serve them, clarify what matters most, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.
At the same time, I believe growth often requires both compassion and honest reflection. When appropriate, I offer thoughtful challenge to encourage deeper insight and greater self-awareness. While I provide professional guidance and perspective, I also believe that individuals remain the experts of their own lives, and that meaningful progress occurs when goals, values, and vision are honored throughout the process.
Across all services, my work is guided by professional integrity, ethical practice, and a commitment to helping individuals and professionals move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
