Rayecine Neely
Student Counselor
Practical, warm, and unhurried. I meet each client where they are and we work at their pace, so that every session ends with something they can actually use.
Meeting people where they are
Hi, I am Rayecine Neely, a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and a Student Counselor with Cheryl L. Andrews & Associates. I work with adolescents, emerging adults, adults, and older adults facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and the weight of chronic stress and burnout.
My approach is practical and authentic, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a Person-Centered foundation. Healing is not a one-size-fits-all process, so I meet each client where they are and walk alongside them at their own pace.
My goal is that you leave each session with something you can actually use: a way to set a healthier boundary, language for a conversation you have been dreading, or a tool that holds up on a hard day.
What we might work on
Anxiety and depression
Worry that will not switch off, low mood that has outlasted its reason, and the day-to-day functioning both quietly erode.
Life transitions
A new school, a new role, a new city, a new season of family life. Change that is good on paper and still hard to live through.
Relationship concerns
Communication that keeps breaking down, boundaries that never quite hold, and patterns that repeat across different relationships.
Chronic stress and burnout
Running on empty for long enough that it started to feel normal. Rebuilding capacity rather than simply pushing through.
Children and adolescents
Younger clients who need a counselor with patience and plain language, working alongside parents and guardians rather than around them.
Skill building
Boundaries, communication, routines, and coping tools, practiced until they work outside the room as well as inside it.
Counseling was not my first career
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and later a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Walden University. It was through years of working alongside others professionally, and through some genuinely hard seasons of my own, that I felt called to serve as a counselor.
That calling opened doors I did not expect, and I have been walking through them one step at a time. I am also a Certified Master Life and Relationship Coach, though the work I do here is counseling rather than coaching.
Outside of counseling I am a wife and a mother. I spend my spare time on fitness, long walks around the lake, and a good book, and a fair amount of it in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes.
How I practice
